Ruth Jones will perform 15 March – 8 June
Ruth is delighted to be returning to the stage after several years away! She was last seen playing Maggie in Theatre Royal Bath’s touring production of The Nightingales by William Gaminara. Her previous theatre credits include Under Milk Wood at the National, A Winter’s Tale for the RSC, Roots for Oxford Stage Company and Educating Rita at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. Ruth is perhaps best known for her role as Nessa Jenkins in the multi award winning Gavin and Stacey for the BBC, which she also co-created and co-wrote with James Corden. Ruth also created and co-wrote Sky 1’s Stella, which ran for six series in which she played the eponymous Stella. Ruth’s other tv credits include Nighty Night, Little Britain, Saxondale, The Great Outdoors, Tess of the D’Urbervilles and Little Dorrit. Films include, Nativity IV, Eat Locals, East is East and Hattie. In recent years, Ruth has become a Sunday Times best-selling author of three novels, Never Greener, Us Three and Love Untold. She is currently writing her fourth. At the age of fifty seven, Sister Act is Ruth’s West End musical debut and she is thrilled to be joining such a wonderful cast.
